Dec 25, 2013 · I haven't checked the default time out for tracert and pathing, you can try add some parameters to see if they make a difference) (I find some hops may not reply to ICMP ECHO(regular ping), but they do reply ICMP TTL Expired so you can see it in traceroute )

Tracert timeouts are normal and not an indication of time delays. Let me explain. Tracerts are nothing more than a series of pings with the TTL set to time out at each router hop.
